Lauren Ploeger Franson Civil Engineers Inc. Lauren Ploeger is a Senior Engineer at Franson Civil Engineers, a firm that specializes in water resources. Lauren's civil engineering experience includes preparing several types of documents; such as: water management and conservation plans, drinking water source protection plans, and feasibility studies for various water system improvements projects. She has been involved with the design stage of projects including: funding acquisition, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and preparation of drawings and technical specifications. She also has extensive experience with water rights coordination in the State of Utah, including coordinating segregation and change applications, as well as filing proof of beneficial use. Ms. Ploeger has worked on projects involving culinary, secondary, and/or agricultural water. Specifically, she has helped formulate plans and design pump systems, pipelines, and dam improvements. She also has experience with small hydropower projects and FERC licensing. Working on canal and pipeline improvements projects, Lauren has gained an understanding of canal seepage and salinity loading in the Colorado River. She has also worked on projects involving riparian protection and restoration. Lauren has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University.
